Wyndham Duchally Country Estate is set in prime Perthshire parkland, just 3 miles from Gleneagles, and is the ideal base for a holiday in Scotland. With 55 self-catering lodges and 9 hotel rooms it is the perfect location for short breaks and overnight hotel stays.

There are no ground floor bedrooms in the hotel and we do not have lift access. Some of our 3 bedroom lodges do have a bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor, which would be suitable for guests with mobility issues.

All lodges are equipped with stand alone showers and we can supply shower chairs upon request.

Our hotel and restaurant facilities are all accessible for wheelchair users and those with mobility issues.

You can reach Wyndham Duchally Country Estate using the following modes of transport:

Train: the nearest railway station is Gleneagles, which is located 3 miles from the resort; it is a 5 minute car journey from the station to Wyndham Duchally Country Estate. Note: Gleneagles is an unmanned station with no taxi rank available.

Air travel: Wyndham Duchally Country Estate is approximately 1 hour’s drive from both Edinburgh and Glasgow airports.

Car hire: car hire is available at both airports, or in the local city of Perth, through Enterprise Car Hire, Rentals should be arranged prior to arrival so as to ensure availability.

Distance to nearest towns:

Auchterarder: 3 miles from the resort; we advise guests not to walk to the town due to the narrow country roads.
Perth: is approximately 12 miles from the resort, which is a 20 minute drive via the busy A9 road.

Equipment hire services

Guests can contact The British Red Cross to hire a range of aids including wheelchairs, commodes, mobility items, bathing aids and much more, which are all available to be delivered or collected by guests for short term loans. Payment is required upon delivery.

Facilities

All our bedrooms are en-suite and are on the first floor of the hotel. Please note that the hotel does not have a lift to access these floors. There are 25 stairs to the 1st floor

The Restaurant, Reception, Bar and Guest Lounge are all situated on the ground floor of the hotel and are all accessible for wheelchair users. Toilets are located on the ground floor with wheelchair access. All hotel bedrooms and lodges have a telephone landline, so that assistance can be summoned 24 hours a day if necessary.

Our award-winning Monteath’s restaurant is pleased to assist those on special diets or with food allergies e.g: Celiacs /Coeliacs, nut allergies etc. Please let us know at the time of booking that you will require a special diet, and we will inform the kitchen.

Pet policy

Selected lodges are dog-friendly and must be booked in advance. There is a maximum of 2 dogs per lodge and a supplement of £75 per dog applies. Dogs are not allowed in hotel rooms or in the Restaurant and Bar. For further information please contact Reception. However, registered guide and support dogs belonging to those with visual and hearing impairments are allowed in all properties featured, even where the property description states that pets are not allowed.
Customers with animal allergies should be aware that we cannot guarantee that a dog has not previously stayed in their chosen property, nor can we accept any liability for any suffering which may occur as a result of such animals having been present. You should also refer to the information regarding pets, which is included in our brochure and on our website.

In case of emergency

We would kindly ask guests to advise us as to any problems they may possibly have in the event of an emergency evacuation. Please be assured that all members of staff will be advised of any assistance required in the event of an emergency.

Car parking and arrival

Guests and visitors can access the resort from Duchally Road.

At the front of the hotel is a car park with 12 spaces for hotel guests and there is also a designated disabled space. This car park is well lit at night and is directly opposite the hotel main entrance. All lodges have adjacent parking spaces, but they are not specifically allocated.

We operate a 10mph speed limit everywhere on the resort. This is indicated by speed ramps and clear signage.

Main entrance and Reception

Entry to the hotel is through a large wooden door that opens inwards and then through a set of double doors, which also both open inwards to allow wheelchair access to the Reception area and the restaurant.

Reception is on the ground floor and has level access throughout. The floor surface in the main entrance area is covered in parquet flooring with oriental rugs covering some areas.
The area is evenly and well lit with overhead lighting and wall lights.

The Reception desk does not have a lower desk for wheelchair users, but there are alternative spaces within the hotel which can be used for check-in if required.
We have access to a hearing loop at Reception for guests with hearing difficulties.

Please inform the Receptionist at check-in if assistance is required in the event of an evacuation.

If required, we can provide pens and paper from Reception to assist guests.
We are happy to provide a familiarisation tour of the resort upon request.

Reception is available from 7.30am – 10pm to assist. Night porters are available outside of these hours

Public Areas

Bar and Guest Lounge
The Bar and Guest Lounge area is situated on the ground floor with level entry from the Reception and main entrance area.
Service is usually at the bar, but drinks and food can be served at the table upon request.

These public rooms have a mixture of seating including sofas and soft chairs, with and without arms, as well as some stools, together with low and high coffee tables.
Lighting is natural daylight and, by night, levels are controlled by dimmer switches, with overhead and wall lighting used as well as table lamps around the room.

The flooring in both the Guest Lounge and the seating area of the Bar consists of short pile carpet. The nearest toilets are in the Reception area. Please note that disabled toilets are located in the Leisure Club.

Restaurant
The restaurant is situated on the ground floor with level entry from the Reception and main entrance area and has level access throughout. Tables in the restaurant are spaced reasonably well apart, with a clear height from the floor. Tables are not fixed so they can be moved to accommodate guests’ requirements.

Lighting is natural daylight and, by night, levels are controlled by dimmer switches, with overhead and wall lighting. The flooring is laminated wood effect.

We do our best to cater for any dietary requirements; please contact us in advance with any specific requests. Where possible all our food produce is locally sourced.
The restaurant offers table service for dinner. Breakfast is a self-service buffet; however, staff can provide assistance upon request.
The nearest toilets are located off the Reception area and wheelchair accessible toilets are also available.

Accommodation
We have 2 full disabled-access lodges, with no stairs at the front door, wider doors throughout the lower level, walk-in showers, hand grips and shower seats.

Some of our 3 bedroom lodges have a bedroom and bathroom downstairs, which are suitable for those with mobility issues but are not specifically designed to accommodate wheelchair users. None of our lodges are fitted with hand rails.
The height of the beds from the floor to the top of the mattress ranges from a minimum of 18 inches up to 23 inches depending upon the lodge/room type.
Rooms are all bright and evenly lit using overhead and wall lighting. There are also bedside and table lamps in each room.

We ask guests to advise us as to any problems they may have in the event of an emergency evacuation, and please be assured that all members of staff will be advised of any assistance required in the event of an emergency.

Do we have wifi?

Yes, we have complimentary wifi available throughout the resort. You will be able to connect 4 devices per hotel room/lodge booked.

Can we accommodate pets?

Selected lodges are dog-friendly. We allow a maximum of 2 dogs per lodge & a supplement of £75 per dog is payable. Advance booking is essential.

Where can our guests park?

We have plenty of parking available at Wyndham Duchally Country Estate and we do not allocate spaces. Therefore you can park anywhere in the area that your lodge/hotel room is located. We also have limited parking available at the leisure centre.

Do you have electric vehicle charge points on the resort?

We have a range of business cards for local taxis available at reception. You will also find a list in the guest information booklet in your lodge/hotel room.

When does reception close?

Reception is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards as well as cash.

Where are the designated smoking areas?

It is ok to smoke anywhere on the grounds, however please make sure you dispose of your cigarette responsibly. Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere indoors.

What TV channels are available?

There are a range of freeview and sky channels available in all hotel rooms and lodges. Sky Sports is only available in the bar.

Where is the nearest shop?

Auchterarder is the closest town to Wyndham Duchally Country Estate and there are two supermarkets there, as well as traditional High Street shops.

Are dressing gowns provided?

Dressing Gowns are provided for hotel guests only.

Is there a safe in the room/lodge?

Our lodges have safes. We do not have safes in our hotel rooms.

Do you have Sky Sports?

Sky Sports is available in the bar.

Where is the bedding for the sofa bed kept?

It is located in the cupboard of the twin bedroom.

What are your Check In/Out times?

Check in for our hotel rooms is 3pm and check out is 11am. Check in for our lodges is 4pm and check out is 10am.

Is there a recycling facility on the resort?

Yes, we have a dedicated area at the resort for recycling next to our courtyard lodges.

Are hairdryers provided in the accommodation?

Yes, all hotel rooms and lodges come equipped with hairdryers.

If multiple lodges are booked, will they be allocated next door to each other?

We always try out utmost to accommodate parties in lodges close to each other. However, this is not something we can guarantee. Lodges are allocated on the day of arrival.

Is there a take away menu available from the kitchen?

Yes, there is a take-away service. Call Reception to place your order and please allow for cooking time.

What is your lost property policy?

If you think you may have left an item behind, please contact our reception team. Whilst we cannot be held accountable for any lost property, all items found are held in lost property for a maximum of 3 months.
